Can't uninstall Norton Antivirus

Featured Replies

Hi

I have a Norton Antivirus 2003 on my computer, and I can't uninstall it.

I just don't have the option

Either through windows "Add/Remove programs" feature

or through the software/software install manager itself.

I even tryed "Your Uninstaller" and it did absolutelly nothing.

It's as if Norton Antivirus became a virus I can't remove.

I'm afraid just manually erazing it from the hard drive, because it's integrated with the XP security center, and I don't want to harm my windows.

Also reinstalling windows is an option I'm trying to avoid :-)

can anyone help me?

please :}

Have you tried installing it again? Then uninstalling it?

Check out something called crapcleaner and go to tools and see if you can get norton to uninstall. i m appalled ppl still use norton!!!

As far as I am concerned. Norton is a virus. Who would use such a crappy program? It bogs down your machine and uses a lot of resources.

Now you have to download a utility from the Symantec site just to get rid of it.

try to remove it with a uninstaller program in safe mod and then make sure all its enteries in the reg are deleted,, maybe tht would help

and if you find bits you cant delete while your in reg mode you cxan always use the prog called unlocker which is free and all it will do is allow you to delet things that cant be thrown away do to the wods in use by another proggy
