98micro ISO

How can I make a customized ISO that installs 98micro rather than modifying a post installation using 98lite. I need instructions step by step because my knowledge in this area is very foggy.

You can use 98Lite to enhance your Windows Setup dir. When 98Lite starts the regular Windows 98 SETUP after it has made modifications it's possible to reset the pc and back-up the 98Lite Setup folder.

Without interupting the SETUP 98Lite will remove it's custom setup files.

This can be your starting point for a base setup system which install's the Windows 95 Shell for example by default

The 98lite install creates four options, micro, sleek, chubby and overweight (normal). The first one is best avoided, since a good number of programs make use of the extra functionality in the W98 shell32.dll.

There is an alternate shell-file based on Win95, that uses shell.w95, which you then add over the top of win98 sleek.

There is an article by c't, on making Windows 9x boot from a ramdisk. This appears to be the basis of a number of efforts to make a 9x boot cd. I plan soon to start making one of these myself.

I am NOT interested in a live CD. Just a cd that can do a clean install of 98micro or some lite version of Windows 98.

Have you made your micro windows 98?

No, but I have found a couple of iso's with the 98lite directory in the root directory of the iso. So indirectly yes, but the process of doing a clean install is rather messy and I still haven't had success with installing 98micro, Sleek, or any other install that 98lite allows you to do.
