ripdajacker
Is there a desktop manager (Managing more than one desktop) that's more KDE/Gnome like? I got Microsoft Desktop Manager but it has no functions such as many linux desktop managers have. You can't see where your windows are on the little preview. Thanks in advance
suryad
There is an open source windows manager the name of which escapes me at the moment...but just google it and I mam sure you will get a hit or two. I tried it myself but I did not enjoy it much. It is hard to make an effective windows desktop manager I would think because Windows was not written groundup with that stuff in mind. spud
Microsoft actually have made one, it's one of the power toys for XP, works quite well, adds 4 seperate desktops, very similar to Linux.
suryad
So is Microsoft Desktop manager different than the Powertoys version? The powertoys version is nice but it is kind of buggy.
ripdajacker
The MS Desktop Manager is good but it's still missing a small preview like seen on linux...
Takeshi
I didn't like the MS PowerToy VDM. Some desktop icons don't show up in some desktops and it saved its config files to the Temp folder (so after cleanup it no longer worked).
