Have created an unattended dvd of Windows XP proffessional with SP2 + Office 2003 + few other programs. Tried it all out on Virtual PC and worked fine. Burnt image to DVD and stored in safe place for future use. Having crashed my PC i tried to use the unattended disc and was presented with the dreaded Blue screen of death. anyone have any ideas what may have caused this? Like i said it all worked ok when tested on Virtual PC.

bad media, bad burning, many things. It is always best to test your cd/dvd when burned on another machine if possible. It cant be the image itself since it works on VPC.

Just because it works on VPC doesn't mean anything. VPC doesn't load your drivers which means that they haven't been tested and can be the cause of your problem.

Corrupted / Wrong / F00ked up drivers is probably the #1 cause I would say. I have yet to run into burning trouble where it said it was successful.

I have ran into trouble with those cheap none data DVD and CD... When they change temp they no longer read data correctly.........

If there are hot when you burn then they cool off the disc diameter changes...

One solution is to put them in the freezer then do the burn with no compare ...

refreeze them then do the compare......

I find my media f***s up regular but this can also be your burner. Some burners have poor burning while some burn very nice. You can read all stuff about burning graphs and media and all other stuff like this at CDFreaks if your interested in knowing :)
