Martin Zugec Posted May 10, 2005 Posted May 10, 2005 Yep, you can use tool from microsoft, but you must be quite familiar with msi structure... Instead try Masai Editor (www.masaieditor.com)
oioldman Posted May 10, 2005 Posted May 10, 2005 Or use WininstallLE which is on your XP & Win2k Server CD in the tools folder. There are loads out there.
Takeshi Posted May 12, 2005 Posted May 12, 2005 I know it's in W2kS CD but can't find it in the XP CD.
valter Posted May 17, 2005 Posted May 17, 2005 WininstallLE is cool simple stuff, the ONLY problem is that before and after snapshots must be taken on clean machine ... means only Windows installed ... any extra software will create additional keys in the registry that you WILL later import into another computer ...
Wyverex Posted June 1, 2005 Posted June 1, 2005 Hi,I recently made quite a few MSI packages with WininstallLE, on a system running for about 4 years of Windows XP and it works great. It simply looks at the system before installation (Before snapshot) and then looks at the system after the installation of the software (after snapshot) and adds the changes to the MSI package. It didn’t add the full registry or keys from other software. Btw there are plenty of places on the Internet where you can download WinistallLE.Like here
