Check them over good at the store for Dead Pixels. Why? It's extremely annoying to bring it home then find out there's a dead pixel/s that you didn't know of.

MSNWAR...I don't know if you are just trying to spark conversation or if you are looking to buy and want good advice but Tomshardware does an exhaustive 3 part series on TFT.

Take a look here: Tomshardware Guide

Contrast Ratio 400:1

Is contrast ration and refresh rate the same thing on a TFT monitor?

I learned that some TFT monitors have built-in speakers and some do not. People that just want sound without stereo quality speakers or wish to eliminate a set of external speakers may want to look for this when purchasing a TFT monitor.

Some TFT monitors come with a button for automatically adjusting the screen settings. This is a must have if you do not understand and/or want to fumble with manual settings. Otherwise, you are forced to manually configure the settings.

Refresh rates are different compared to conventional CRT's. Mine has a maximum of 75hz which is what I use. It's different cause LCD's/TFT have no flicker when viewing still images, it's only when the image changes that the refresh rate starts. CRT's are always refreshing whether the images are still or moving.
