PhoenixAvenger Posted April 13, 2005 Posted April 13, 2005 As I'm sure you're aware of, Microsoft has recently released a number of Windows XP hotfixes. One of these fixes was to shell32.dll, which has undone many of the changes XPize implemented.Problem is, the XPize updater doesn't seem to notice that shell32.dll has changed. I know it's working since it successfully updated about six other fixed files, but shell32.dll wasn't among them.So what do you recommend? Do I just reinstall XPize from scratch, should I wait for an official XPize update, or is there a more roundabout solution?
Dynaletik Posted April 14, 2005 Posted April 14, 2005 It's the same for me. Pls help and fix it XPero.
XPero Posted April 14, 2005 Posted April 14, 2005 Are you telling about XPize 3.0 or uAE 1.0? Anyway I will look through the XPize Updater code and see what's wrong. Can you both tell my your system config? (Windows XP, 2003, MCE, Version, what SP and language)XPero
Dynaletik Posted April 14, 2005 Posted April 14, 2005 I got Version 3.0. The updater doesn't recognize the changed file. I got Win XP Pro Service Pack 2 with the latest Hotfixes by MS. And before this Hotfixes, that were released the last days, XPize worked perfectly.
Lost Soul Posted April 14, 2005 Posted April 14, 2005 i used xpize 3 the a few days ago also and then that microsoft update hit and it overwrite a few of the patches xpize wrote,, im running xp pro,, and the one that i notice is really the one where the files carry over/ transfer from one place to another,, other then that im not really sure
PhoenixAvenger Posted April 14, 2005 Author Posted April 14, 2005 My system runs Windows XP Service Pack 2 English, with all prior hotfixes applied. And I'm using XPize 3.0.One other thing of note - the Updater also "identified" timedate.cpl (or something close to that) as needing updates about three or four times. Doesn't exactly sound normal to me...
XPero Posted April 15, 2005 Posted April 15, 2005 All those issues you are reporting have been already fixed. New uAE 1.1 and XPize 3.1 will be released today.
PhoenixAvenger Posted April 16, 2005 Author Posted April 16, 2005 It seemed strange at first - after I installed XPize 3.1, Windows Update popped up and told me that I have to install a re-release of the hotfix that messed with shell32.dll. So I figured that it was a good opportunity to test if that part was fixed.Sure enough, the XPize updater identified and successfully updated shell32.dll.Muchas gracias, XPero - you've made an awesome contribution to Windows XP users. Keep up the good work.
