April 7, 200521 yr I trying to find a utility that will achieve the same thing has fdisk but for WinPE?I don't want diskpart. Can anyone recommand something?thanksJohn
April 12, 200521 yr If you like to have a graphical interface, you can use the diskmanagement snapin. It works well.
April 12, 200521 yr I read through your post too quickly.... The only option I am aware of other than the native Disk Management snap-in would be Partition Magic.
April 12, 200521 yr You could also try Ranish Partition Manager. I think version 2.44 is about the latest. Search the web, you will find it.I have used it in the past, it works well. However, Microsoft's diskpart.exe utility does work well and is very flexible.
April 13, 200521 yr Ranish won't run under ANY NT based system. It needs direct hardware access.(but you could install it to its own bootable partition on the HD)If you know what you are doing, you could use either PTEDIT32 or Beeblebrox. They will just edit the Partition table, then you have to use format as usual.jaclaz
