Winamp v5.08e (All Versions)

Nullsoft Winamp is a fast, flexible, high-fidelity music player for Windows. Winamp supports MP3, CD, Audiosoft, Audio Explosion, MOD, WAV and other audio formats, custom appearances called skins, plus audio visualization and audio effect plug-ins. additional features including free-form skins, a new decoder, built-in cross fade, and an advanced Media Library.

New features in Winamp 5 include support for classic Winamp 1.x/2.x/2.9x skins and Winamp 3 (Modern) skins; a fancy new Modern skin; the same classic skin for people who want the Winamp 2 feel; a vastly more powerful media library; CD-ripping support (AAC@2x in the Free version, MP3 at unlimited speeds in the Pro version); CD-burning support (limited to 2x in the free version); advanced title-formatting logic for file types that support it; huge AVS updates; support for playback of AAC and VP6 in NSV files/streams; global hot-key support; a new Signal Processing Studio DSP plug-in; options for disabling plug-in exception-handling for developers; a new Winamp icon; and the addition of XP manifest.xml to winamp.exe. The developer made the agent icon use the configured Winamp system tray icon, made the program faster, made Winamp's internal submenu management more reliable, added skin-font-override preferences, and added a spacebar that shows the current playlist item in the playlist editor.

Winamp 5.08e:

* Updated Windows Media DRM License

* Fixed playFile function in gen_ff.dll (Allows Modern skins to launch playback)

* Created new eMusic bundles

* Critical Security bug fixed in in_mp4.dll and enc_mp4.dll and libmp4v2.dll

* http Seeking corrected for webservers that refuse to return Accept-Range

* Critical Security buffer overflow fixed in in_cdda.dl

i never managed to understand the difference between the full & pro, can someone tell me that?

WinAmp since v5 has the ability to rip Audio CDs (thru Media library). If you have the full version (or any other bundle which contains the relevant codecs), you can rip from ACD into MP3 or AAC or OGG formats, only at 2x speed.

If you have Pro version, you can rip to all the formats at unlimited speed (i.e., as fast as your CD-drive possibly can), and you can rip to the mp3PRO format as well. You have to download the pro version and from preferences you have to enter your registration to unlock Pro features (as mentioned here). If you do not give your key, the pro version will run just like your full version does.

As of now, this is the only difference between unpaid (full) and paid (pro) versions. Nullsoft (AOL) plans to give more facilities in the future.

the installation of both the PRO and FULL versions result in the EXACT same files on the system. The only difference is the installer, and that difference is a single page where you enter your serial during isntall time. That be the ONLY difference.
