How to Make Unattended CD for Newbies

Recommended Posts

yep wanted to write one of these too. but u got it =)

we just need a common problem and troubleshooting guide now.

good job!

new guide will have a FAQ section. That should suffice. And it's easy to add additions as well :)

The majority of the update has been completed, just waiting to do the PHP integration. Sometime today or tomorrow. Just alittle glimpse, though it shows you nothing :P

http://unattended.msfn.org/advanced/billbo...llboardtext.php

The new guide has a step by step begining, so this thread will probally lost in the forum :P

Q: Why write your own guide instead of requesting something added to the official guide?

EDIT: I must also ask you to stop linking to attached files in other posts

Alanoll as soon as the new guide is up at http://unattended.msfn.org

i will delete this post! :)

I shooting for Friday :) All depends on how much HW i get, and if the PHP is working properly. rest assured, you'll get a PM before it's completely switched over.

Hoping for RTW for Sunday hopefully (give time for people to look for errors).

Enjoy the link?

Can you possibly guess what it's for?

Whoa, dude this is great !!! just what I needed as I had big trouble getting the DP to work, also I'm creating a cmd-file that automates the process of copying files and starting tools to get the perfect Ua CD (currently for private use, maybe I'll put it on the forum when I'm sattified with the results I get...

current features:

- A menu to choose the Ua CD I want to create (W2KPro-SP4/W2KSrv-SP4/W2K3-SP1 or WXPPro-SP2)

- Delete old files from x:\%oscd%

- copy installation files from %ossource% to %oscd%

- creating $OEM$ (subfolders)

- AND NOW Integrating the DriverPacks ;)

- And alot of other things

thnx again !!

Nice Asta,

I had my UA CD done except for the silent installs, or at least i thought until reading your guide.

I have been doing my Silent Installs using basic batch, you suggest WPI though, hmm I will have to look into that. for now the batch seems to do the job. :)

kepe up the good work, and also cant wait to see new site allanol.

Nice work. :thumbup This will help a lot of people who doesn't understand the tutorial in www.unattended.msfn.org.

Suggestion:

Maybe you should add this to the "common mistakes" in creating a Winnt.sif file

Some people save their winnt.sif as winnt.sif.txt

I'm looking forward for the site update.
