chankya Posted January 25, 2005 Posted January 25, 2005 Dear alli like to run a dos app on winxp but there is an error insufficient files provided by dos???how to make files=80 and buffers=40pl's reply if have already workd/tried on it.with thanksMSFN Enjoy!!!
puntoMX Posted January 25, 2005 Posted January 25, 2005 you should put those lines in AUTOEXEC.BAT / AUTOEXEC.DOS and CONFIG.SYS / CONFIG.DOS so every time you start a DOS program it´s going to use those setting... but that´s in 98. LOL. XP has them too, but they are hidden system files.Okay, if you make a shortkut to that program you can change the properties of that shortcut. o to "options" and set your BUFFERS and NUMBER OF BUFFERS. I don´t know where to find the FILES settings, but try to set BUFFERS first. (Could be something with NUMBER OF BUFFERS.)I hope that helps...

un4given1 Posted January 31, 2005 Posted January 31, 2005 Create a shortcut to your EXE. Right click on the shortcut and do "Properties" Select the Compatability Tab. Easy enough? Select the options you want.
