is it wise to pass a phone signal thru a network cable plug?

this is the setup before:

room 1: network hub, all the ports, phone jack, modem.

room 2: network jack, computer, power backup

now, im losing power, so what i did was plug my phone jack in room 1 to the cable that leads to my room. now, i moved up my modem, pluged it into the jack, my computer and the battery backup. so now i got a phone signal thru the network jack, and ill be surfing the net while the rest of the house is power less .

will this dammage my network cables in the future?

i also using network cable to passing phone signal aroung office and is working fine.
