Hi, My Lsass.exe is using more than 91% of my processor even if my computer has been turned on 25 minutes before. Any one know why ?

make sure you have a decent virus scanner with up to date defintions, i recommend Norton Antivirus but if you cannot buy anything, use Avg free edition 7( http://www.grisoft.com ), download hijackthis( http://www.spychecker.com/download/download_hijackthis.html ), spybot S+D( http://www.spybot.info ) and adaware SE personal edition( http://www.lavasoft.com ). Run everything and one of those should do the trick

Sircam and Sasser viruses/worms will attack LSASS process. Does the computer restart when attempting to use internet explorer? If so, just run "shutdown -a" to stop the shutdown process and update tour windows, then scan for viruses.

About "shutdown -a".. Does that command only work with XP? Is there a similar command you can use on win2k? We've had some major sasser/blaster issues on the net at work, so would have been good too know.. We haven't heard of any commands that works on win2k.. (Stupid question, but I'll ask anyway  )

Hmm... It's not sasser then, Might want to try to update Windows XP Fully, installing sp2 if not already installed. Then if the problem still persists, boot into safemode with networking, then go to this website and scan the system for any viruses/trojans.

if you update to windows sp2 while your system is currently infected it can create issues.

maybe even BSOD issues
