Alanoll Posted December 22, 2004 Author Posted December 22, 2004 put the /qb BEFORE the INI switch, and try again.
a06lp Posted December 22, 2004 Posted December 22, 2004 dare i ask again about the new, fixed MSI release?
larciel Posted December 22, 2004 Posted December 22, 2004 put the /qb BEFORE the INI switch, and try again.C:\>"winamp.msi /qb INI="c:\winamp.ini""The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.gives me this error when ran by cmdhmm.. tried my best.. need help *edit*tried just silent switch%systemdrive%\winamp.msi /qnand it doesn't work.. so i'm guessing the switch /qn /qb doesn't work in this case.. right? smack me if i'm wrong .
Alanoll Posted December 22, 2004 Author Posted December 22, 2004 SMACK!leave out the INI for now.WINAMP.MSI is in C:\ i take it?Can you execute it alone? without /qb or /qn?if it runs, cancel it.execute it with this linemsiexec.exe /i C:\Winamp.msi /qbLeave the quotes out for now, just see if that runs. If it does, try it without msiexec.exe. If it continues to work, add INI= either AFTER /qb or before, I suggest after, but I'm unsure.FYI - You're the ONLY one with this problem, so it's something you're doing wrong. Also, redownload the MSI, it's best you do
larciel Posted December 22, 2004 Posted December 22, 2004 the code you posted, works fine.if i leave out the msiexe.exe /i part , silent install will not work*redownloaded msi. same thinghmm.. i know i'm doing something wrong, but i can't quite get a grasp of it
Alanoll Posted December 22, 2004 Author Posted December 22, 2004 then stay with the msiexec.exe code then. It is what is TRULY called when you call the MSI alone, or when you double click.
a06lp Posted December 22, 2004 Posted December 22, 2004 Last Update: 12/22 07:29 GMTDoes this mean you released the fixed version?
Alanoll Posted December 23, 2004 Author Posted December 23, 2004 Last Update: 12/22 07:29 GMTDoes this mean you released the fixed version? if I hadn't fixed it, why would I have uploaded it, changed the date, AND uploaded the CAB version?
a06lp Posted December 23, 2004 Posted December 23, 2004 if I hadn't fixed it, why would I have uploaded it, changed the date, AND uploaded the CAB version?yay! time to finish my U-DVD!
Alanoll Posted December 23, 2004 Author Posted December 23, 2004 (edited) ah geeze....bloody hell....oooh man....bad news for Winamp, this could very well be the FINAL edition (from NullSoft) anyway.Watch the credits, previous versons had "(for now)" at the opening, it's no longer present, as well as another original programmer left, leaving just Tag Edited December 23, 2004 by Alanoll

Alanoll Posted December 23, 2004 Author Posted December 23, 2004 I've already competed repacking the Winamp 5.0.8 Fast eh?I'm guessing the "bundled mp3" thing is the new thing they added (of which I didn't include)
