SiMoNsAyS Posted May 31, 2005 Author Posted May 31, 2005 .nfo file types are usually bundled with "underground" releases. they're purpose is to be displayed on a command-window b/c they include an ASCII logo better viewed under DOS.you can try to import the batch file at first post that associates those .nfo files with "type" command and take a look by yourself
Marthax Posted June 1, 2005 Posted June 1, 2005 It still won't work. I managed to make it start notepad++, then kill it and afterwards, register the file extensions but, it didn't help a thing. If I check the extensions in windows, it shows notepad as a *.txt reader. What should I do?
oneless Posted June 18, 2005 Posted June 18, 2005 (edited) ref. first post , what is doing ?M Short %PF% Variablei get an error from command prompt ('M' is not recognized as an internal or external command ...blabla)it suppose to be a 'REM' there ? Edited June 18, 2005 by oneless
Yzöwl Posted June 18, 2005 Posted June 18, 2005 Someone else asked this here, I had assumed it had been changed by SiMoNsAyS, but looking back at his response, I guess he hadn't understood the problem. In answer to your question though, yes it is supposed to be REM, not M.
oneless Posted June 20, 2005 Posted June 20, 2005 thanks @Yzöwli love PowerDVD6 for playing DVD's.but it registers all extension files when i install it,including here audio and video extensions.i love bsplayer for divx files and winamp for audio files .for bsplayer i found in first post , thanks @SiMoNsAyS the moves.for the winamp has anybody a more complete registry setting for register audio files unattended ?
SiMoNsAyS Posted June 20, 2005 Author Posted June 20, 2005 @oneless, yes, it's supposed to be 'REM'.%PF% variable is used to transform "C:\Program files" onto "C:\Progra~1".@oneless, winamp is supposed to register its extensions during setup. btw just change the extensionREG ADD "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\.ogg" /VE /D "Winamp.File" /FREG ADD "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\.wav" /VE /D "Winamp.File" /FREG ADD "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\.mp3" /VE /D "Winamp.File" /FREG ADD "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\.???" /VE /D "Winamp.File" /F
OrcoXP Posted June 20, 2005 Posted June 20, 2005 I use WMP for all files but Winamp for Playlists.@OnelessThe Winamp MSI has installation switches for video, audio and playlists.http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?act=ST&f=80&t=46716
oneless Posted June 20, 2005 Posted June 20, 2005 thanks too @OrcoXPi already included @Alanoll's MSI WinAmp since 5.0.91now i have 5.0.92 and i am waiting his 5.0.93 version !i know of course that winamp make the registering himself.BUTat the last installation , i rearranged the apps order inmy WPI_CD and PowerDVD was installed after BSplayer and WInAMP , and WMP10.and THIS PopwerDVD take ALL_POSSIBLE_EXTENSIONS for him. register all .i dont try yet to open .gif or. bmp with PopwerDVD, but i think that can handle that even a .dbf.i love powerDVD for DVD only , not music , not .avi's, not database files . i use for that MS Access 2000.i love winamp for music , not for DVDs...an so on... this is the reason for my winamp_file_registrations need.

OrcoXP Posted June 21, 2005 Posted June 21, 2005 Why not take a snapshot of the changes to the registry and then undo the unwanted ones...Active Registry Monitor will allow you to make an undo file
Wesmosis Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 (edited) plz how can I associate *.txt *.inf and other file types of Notpad to Win32Pad?in other words making Win32Pad , the Defualt text viewrI've managed to Silent UA install, but the crappy notpad still taking over! Edited August 1, 2005 by Wesmosis
OrcoXP Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 record the changes to the registry on a normal install and save them to a reg file.then apply that reg file in your ua
