AFAIK cdshell has a copy protection...look into that www.cdshell.org...this was asked of Mike to crate a way so people COULD NOT copy your cd...it has been implemented in cdshell for a while, so I suggest you take a look at that since it seems about the only way...but do realize that nothing is completely secure...I think there is mention that somebody could break the protection, but youd be back from lunch by then.

I see your point, but I see it being more work than a tech is going to go through to get his ISO, let alone doing it without anyone or camera noticing.

And I know there is CD Protection which will probably help a ton, just I don't belive there is one CD Protection out their fool proof, if it can be made, it can be unmade in my opinion. I guess he'll just have to decide how important his CD is, and what measure to take accordingly. Some more drastic than others.

Here is something new, I want to prevent anyone from copy my unattended windows xp at the office.

there that can encrypt the cd or DVD?

If I recall correctly, there is a way to encrypt the winnt.sif from MS so that things like the Admin password and Product Key are not readable, but then you have to rebuild it every 60 days (that's the max amount of time you can alot).

Still waiting for a solution, with the combine brain power of msfn i am sure we can come up with a innovative solution.

even if u hv cameras there is always a blind spot in the room.

I don't personally do the setup or repairs i leave that to the techs.

I can't watch them every second. So i hv to give them the Unattended Windows XP cd.

That's about all I know of either. However, I assume Astalavista adds some programs or hotfixes to his unattended disc. So, what if one were to add an email script to, say the Net framework or Sun Java's self extracting exe. Use some freeware info tools and a command line email program to email the Mac, IP, name, time, date, etc. to a predetermined IP address. You'd have to write the command line script, but I quite sure some freeware tools could do that. I don't know if Astalavista would want to persue this idea further, but it would give you a good report if somebody used your disc.

EDIT: That assumes they leave it online when they run it.

I dont think any of these programs can help. Windows setup needs to read files from that CD therefore they cant be encoded. Even if you make creating ISO impossible, just copying files will work.

RIS is good solution. Or some other way that uses network, like putting all software/regtweaks/additional commands to network disk and using it during unattended.
