RayM
Hey Bilou_Gateux, that's great.I haven't been adding DX9. My computers are old (K6-III, 400MHz, 512MB RAM). I'm wondering if my system has enough oomph for DX9, or maybe I'm better off with DX7. My graphics cards are pretty old and basic too. I'd like to know what people think. (Besides "get a new system".) Is DX9 going to bloat my little system?
GreenMachine
I don't think it will make a noticeable difference (could be wrong, too ...), but if you don't need it, no reason not to stay with DX7. Just make sure you have the latest fixes for it ... whichever they may be ...
BrandonS_Mil
HELP!!!!My DX9c is not being included. I copy the file into the dx9 dir but when i run winupdate, it says i need to install....
tarquel
I'm not sure if your refering to windows 2000 or XP, but if you are refering to xp then you dont need to include it as it is already included (providing you are adding the Service Pack 2 to you installation/CD)If you are refering to 2000 however, make sure that you have downloeded the full redist version and not just the web update version.Regards,N. BrandonS_Mil
Sorry I was trying to post quickly, but i missed alot of info.I am using GreenMachine XPCREATE. I NEED a XP SP1 cd, because my organization has not approved XP XP2. I have everything else working -> i.e. Symantec Corp 9, with the server link; Adobe Reader 601, and the 602 update; Java 1.42; Rename default Admin; Block SP2. If anyone know why it is doing this, please help.
GreenMachine
For the moment there is no support for DX9 (coming soon to a theater near you ... ). You could just use the DirectX OPK. It is referenced in the Unattended Guide (http://unattended.msfn.org). Put the OPK in SVC-PRE.
Bilou_Gateux
The easiest method for me is to extract all redist content and copy needed files to CDROOT\I386\SVCPACK.Building a SFX archive is time consuming to my opinion and make the install slower as the SFX need first to be extracted before the command DXSETUP.EXE /SILENT is launched.I add one line in I386\SVCPACK.INF just before IE6 installDXSETUP.EXE /SILENT

GreenMachine
... the current one is too buggy dood.I beg to differ. There are some updates that may not be handled, but all the information you need can be found here in these forums. Just read some of the posts by Bilou_Gateux or homiebrah, they have easily found solutions.
