online purchases

Recommended Posts

The first thing I look for is when I am about to give my details, I like to know that the site is secure. At the bottom of your Internet Browser you normally see a little padlock, if you click it you can check the digital certificate details for the vendor.

Thanks

Many times, the "padlock" symbol will not appear until you enter the CHECKOUT phase - this is when you will be giving personal info. You can go to this point as is you would purchase then just close browser if you decide they aren't secure. Also - just like any purchase - check them out with BBB (better business bureau) etc to make sure they are legitimate. Finally, if you really want item, but decide not to trust the site's security - email them and ask for telephone number and complete transaction that way.
