Install XP from hard drive...

Hi, i've got to seperate hard drives and I copied the windows xp installation cd to my second hard drive. Anybody know if i can install xp from this hard drive??

go to the i386 directory and type: winnt (or winnt32, if winnt doesn't work) and the install will begin. Don't forget your cd-key :-)

Use WinPE/BartPE to start the installation using "WINNT32.EXE" in your "i386" dir

Hi, after installing WinXP in second hard drive, reboot from the second hard drive, then go to the new WinXP, right. But, will the new WinXP affect the installed WinXP (first hard drive)? Just know that.

I'm officially in the same boat as of tonite.... I thought that a 5 Pak of DVD-RW's would last me a lifetime (ok, maybe a year?) but after 2 or 3 burns of each, nero/alcohol/... refuse to burn to them or erase them anymore and they have no scratches whatsoever... (On an old pioneer DVR-105) I'm giving up on rewritable media for good, and even though the write-once media is down in price a lot, I don't want to burn a spindle full of them for nothing... So I found an old 12GB HD I still had (surprisingly) kickin' around, formatted system (98se), smartdrv.exe on it and all... Thinking of it, no more discs to burn either (2x -RW's still took almost 10 mins to burn) and the install is quite fast too. (yes, I do have vmware but it's not practical in this case) Oh well...
