Fuzz Posted September 13, 2004 Posted September 13, 2004 I've tried using the following switches AdbeRdr602_distrib_enu.exe -p"-s /v\"/qn\""but doesn't work as I still get the dialog box and I have to click on the buttons. Can any one tell me what I'm doing wrong? Thanks in advance for all the help!Farook
sleepnmojo Posted September 13, 2004 Posted September 13, 2004 The search button would have probably revealed this threadhttp://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=24857&hl=adobewhich would have your answer.

Fuzz Posted September 13, 2004 Author Posted September 13, 2004 http://www.ryanvm.net/msfn/acroread602.exe (15MB)Switchless Works perfectly!!Thanks Mate!
Radimus Posted September 13, 2004 Posted September 13, 2004 start /wait "" acrobat\AdbeRdr60_enu_full.exe -p"-s /v\"/qb-\""start /wait "" acrobat\Acro-Reader_6.0.2_Update.exe /s /v/qb-AdbeRdr602_distrib_enu.exe /qb-
Radimus Posted September 13, 2004 Posted September 13, 2004 Ryan: I looked (and tried yours), however I went with following your directions to make my own packaged administrative install using winrar ;The comment below contains SFX script commandsSetup=acrobatreader.msi /qb-!TempModeSilent=1Visible progress bar, no cancel button
RyanVM Posted September 13, 2004 Posted September 13, 2004 I use a modified MSI file as well to say the proper version number and have PrintMe completely removed from it along with some other cleanups. Also, 7-zip compresses better EDIT: But yes, I'll probably switch to the /qb-! switch in the future.EDIT2: Also, 7-zip's SFX module seems to be better behaved that WinRAR's. I've personally experienced (and others have posted about the same problem) times where WinRAR will delete the temp files prematurely or Windows setup will continue to the next program before the current one finishes (probably because the SFX EXE doesn't stay resident in memory while the called program runs). Of course, your milage may vary, but I've played with SFX archives for quite awhile
a06lp Posted September 13, 2004 Posted September 13, 2004 http://www.ryanvm.net/msfn/acroread602.exe (15MB)Switchless hmm...I just tested this, and there is a plug-ins BAK folder?! Is this pre-configured to have the speed-up options as well as being switchless?
RyanVM Posted September 14, 2004 Posted September 14, 2004 No, I think that folder's created by default.
