Silverscreen Posted September 11, 2004 Posted September 11, 2004 SP2 exe keeps on trying to extract files into my F drive instead of my C drive! i've tried everything! and automatic updates won't install sp2 either! plz help?
iemand14 Posted September 11, 2004 Posted September 11, 2004 Can't you extract the SP2 on a manuel way?
Wasim Posted September 11, 2004 Posted September 11, 2004 it extracts the file for temporary use (someone tell me if i am wrong there). the files will be removed once SP2 is full installed. My files where extracted to e:\ whereas i was installing on c:.
N1K Posted September 11, 2004 Posted September 11, 2004 You should create a new folder on the drive u want and extract all the files in that folder from command prompt window...Or you could copy the .exe file to the root of C: drive and extract it there..All files will be extracted in the temp folder of C: drive...
pthomas Posted September 13, 2004 Posted September 13, 2004 Run the service pack with the /x switch from the command prompt:windowsxpSP2.exe /xThat way, it will prompt you where to extract the service pack to. Once its extracted, go to that folder, open up the i386 -> update dir and launch the update.exe file to install SP2.Paul
