You should create a new folder on the drive u want and extract all the files in that folder from command prompt window...

Or you could copy the .exe file to the root of C: drive and extract it there..

All files will be extracted in the temp folder of C: drive...

Run the service pack with the /x switch from the command prompt:

windowsxpSP2.exe /x

That way, it will prompt you where to extract the service pack to. Once its extracted, go to that folder, open up the i386 -> update dir and launch the update.exe file to install SP2.
