Aegis Posted June 22, 2005 Posted June 22, 2005 I came across an article once that showed how fast a fresh install of SP1 would become infected compared to SP2. I don't remember the exact times, but SP1 became infected in ~15 minutes, while SP2 never got infected.

You must install it on a fresh system or slipstream it though..... Other then that, When M$ made SP2, ther main concern was sercurity and safety for the user. (remember when M$ anounced that SP2 would even work on most illegal copies of Windows XP? They did this to help stop all the stupid crap like Viruses and ad-aware/spyware....If you don't install SP2, your missing out on some good features and overall better security options. Justas Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 Kind of funny looking back at how SP2 was looked at when it was first released... Wonder how we will look back on XP SP3 and Vista SP1...
