September 7, 200421 yr If you want to see 0 Critiical & 0 Recomended & WMP10:-Start with Slipstremed SP2 then,SCV-MSX => HMTCDWizard_enu.EXE, NDP1.1sp1-KB867460-X86.exeSVC-QCH => Q815062_W2K_spl_X86_EN.exeSVC-WMP => mp10setup.exeSVC-X2M => dotnetfx.exe , setup.exeFor a network Unattended install I then take the SVCPACK directory & SVCPACK.INF that XPcreate makes and drop them into my i386 directoryI know not everyone wants all updates listed install but some may frefer not to see any updates required.Hope this helps some one.
September 8, 200421 yr Thanks, krismark. That's basically what XPCREATE does, and those are the files I recommend, with the exception of WMP10, because it was not out when I last updated. It will be there soon ...
September 9, 200421 yr I just ran this test with all of the above and it worked find the only thing I did not have in was SVC-QCH => Q815062_W2K_spl_X86_EN.exedose it have to be there too? my xp wu=0.
September 10, 200421 yr ran WU today and found 816093 Update. I take it that it is a new one as well?
September 10, 200421 yr That is required because you added Microsoft's Virtual Java Machine. Behaviour by design!
September 16, 200421 yr This update has not been incorporated, as there is not a "silent" installation possible. You can add it to SVC-HF2, but you will be promted with a dialog box during setup, which will halt setup until dismissed. This eliminates the "unattended" aspect of the installation.
September 17, 200421 yr Hey, I don't like it, either ...For the record, running this CMD file should "fool" Windows Update:@ECHO OFFREG ADD HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\GdiDetectionTool /V GDITool /T REG_DWORD /D 00000001EXITThat can go in SVC-EXE.
September 19, 200421 yr krismarkYou can add the following to your list:SVC-X2M => langpack.exe (language pack for .NET, for those who need it )
September 20, 200421 yr That's correct. However, to eliminate confussion, note that it is not needed for the English versions. Please refer to the Web Site for the up-to-date current hotfix list.
November 3, 200421 yr For GDI+ tool;Just edit the gditool.inf file in the package by deleting the "/extended gdidet.xml" string under the [RunMsiutil] section and repackage it.This will eliminate the message that may appear after the installation of the tool. So it is avaible for 100% silent install..
