Mod AIM with ResHacker?

Featured Replies

The icon when u sign into AIM. With the little AOL man and it says AOL Instant Messenger. I was wondering if there was a way to change that picture with Reshack?

i'm pretty sure you can but if you do that you're breaking the copyright law :)

probably not, but i'll check on it later on tonight, i'm getting tired of having a semi blank profile cause of the limit. *attached my profile* thats all 1024 characters cause of the HTML and color changes.... If i find a way too change the 1024 character profile thing, i'll let ya know :D

also, you may love me for this.... but...

Who needs copyright laws?

*EDIT* oh yea, if you modify your AIMRes.Dll file.. you may find that you can't direct conect or view webcams thats why i haven't done that above tutorial. but if you rarely ever do that go for it... and remeber too BACKUP YOUR ORIGINAL! aimres.dll

Bleh. In addition to the above linked guide, try this site. Somewhat dated, but still very detailed. I used it a year or two ago to modify 5.1 - the last decent and usable version of AIM. I ripped out file transfer, talk, stock ticketer, buddy icons, lots of stuff.... :)

*cough*opens ource alternative software pimpage*cough*

I'm using AIM 5.2 with AiMutation. Works extremely well to me. Removes ads and all kinds of junk. Btw, there's a path in the Windows directory you can go to in order to edit your profile. info.htm is the file name. ;)
