2crazy2admit Posted August 10, 2004 Posted August 10, 2004 Those of you who installed the RTM Network version from MS -check out your EULA using winver. It gives a 180 time limit. I changed the date to 2005 to test it ,but MS checks for this error automatically online. So the 2005 test is a wash. I had a valid home license. Is this an error or is MS going to start checking for licenses every 180 days? Whats Up Microsoft?
gamehead200 Posted August 10, 2004 Posted August 10, 2004 Definitely a trial version... Beta testers got full ISO images for previous SP2 builds with HOME or PRO versions of XP as a trial... Nothing like that is happening over here!
gabriel_buc Posted August 10, 2004 Posted August 10, 2004 Nothing here too Though I never heard of trial SP ????!!!!!!?????
visaversa Posted August 10, 2004 Posted August 10, 2004 it is so that every sp2 beta was a trial version of 180 days atleast the iso where, duno about the spacks, never downloaded them
prathapml Posted August 10, 2004 Posted August 10, 2004 What I see is this:1. You might have got a less-than-licensed version of WXP somewhere.2. That might actually have been an evaluation copy patched to make it full.3. When you used the SP2, the patch came unstuck - and your 180 day issue has cropped up.Well, don't start flaming if this is not the case, just trying to help.Sure you didn't download "xp_SP2_RTM.exe" through IRC/P2P/warez sites? that was a pre-mature, file, tampered with - so no digital signature on it. If you did, then re-download the *REAL* deal from the official download site (downloads.microsoft.com/---------).
