cancer10
I have SAMSUNG 52X CD-Rom Drive.Sometimes, when I try to eject it, the CD tray doesn't come out and the computer gets hanged. What could be the problem.I have checked all the wires, they seem to be alright. Phyridean
Try using the eject command (Go to my computer, right click on the drive, choose "eject") in windows instead of the button on the drive, or vice versa.

mazin
If you had a 56x ROM, I'd say you'd better use a 52x one.But since you have 52x already, I'd say it's a frequent problem on Win98 and Win98SE.But, if you have WinXP, then this problem is related to some other software, as said by sven.I'm sure this problem does not occur on a newly installed WinXP. But if it does, then your ROM is partially corrupted and needs a repair. Particularily, it's the rubber band.

prathapml
Does it still crash even if you forcibly eject the CD-tray (by poking a pin into the emergency eject hole) ?
