July 19, 200224 yr When I purchased my old computer last year, I downloaded a picture from the internet and set it as my Background for the desktop. I plan on selling the computer, so I went into Display, and changed the Background to Windows Me. When the computer starts up, I still see the old picture for a few seconds. It eventually shows the Windows Me Background, but how can I stop it from showing the old picture for a few seconds at bootup and also shutdown. The computer is running Windows Me obviously. Thanks, Mike
July 19, 200224 yr I remember this happening to me back on 98 and Me, as i recall, goto your display settings and disable active desktop, restart and then re-enable active desktop, then you will see only the backround you have set...-Drew
July 19, 200224 yr Author Drew, It worked. I no longer see the old picture, only the new Background that I chose. Many thanks, Mike
July 19, 200224 yr You also might want to delete your old background picture, so the new owners dont see what it is
July 19, 200224 yr maybe its just me, but i would definitely give the comp. a good format if i was going to sell it
