infiniterb Posted June 13, 2004 Posted June 13, 2004 Currently, I'm using the following for Itunes 4.6 and for some reason, the install shield comes up, but itunes fails to install: itunes.exe /s /v /qnI look in the Event Viewer but find nothing wrong. I've found where the msi is stored in the temp directory, but it gives me an error message that says you cannot run the msi by itself. You have to run the setup.exe.Any ideas?
MCT Posted June 13, 2004 Posted June 13, 2004 there are probly other files the .msi needs, like maybe a Data1.cab or whatever it uses good luck
Strat79 Posted June 13, 2004 Posted June 13, 2004 Try using /s /v /qb instead of the qn. Sometimes /qn doesn't work on certain installs.
ODC Posted June 24, 2004 Posted June 24, 2004 Hello. I have the exact same problem. It seems the silent install is broken in iTunes 4.6. After running with /s or /S (with no other parameters), iTunes does not install, and I get a ResultCode=-3 in the setup.log. Running without the /s or /S swith brings up the extraction dialog, but /v/qn, /v/qb does not hide the dialog requiring one to press "next".Does anyone honestly have 4.6 working?
erik_demon Posted March 13, 2005 Posted March 13, 2005 I created an autoIT script for iTunes 4.71. You can download it here This script is for the english version of iTunes!! If you use a different language, modify the script.
