jondercik Posted May 15, 2004 Posted May 15, 2004 I have an Windows XP Pro unattended disc done, so I know how to slipstream SP1 into the disc. When I try to integrate SP2 RC1 with the /integrate switch it says not all necessary files are present to integrate. I am trying to slipstream from my original XP volume license CD.
edmoncu Posted May 15, 2004 Posted May 15, 2004 probably you did not have the network redistributable version of sp2.
nuhi Posted May 16, 2004 Posted May 16, 2004 jondercik, redownload sp or at least recopy your windows installation on hdd without any tampering then try to slipstream it with nLite (this is a comercial )If that doesn't work then your windows installation on the cd is not legitimate.
jondercik Posted May 17, 2004 Author Posted May 17, 2004 So because it is a volume license CD I cannot slipstream SP2?
GreenMachine Posted May 17, 2004 Posted May 17, 2004 Can someone elaborate? I had trouble slipstreaming SP2 into a VLK XP, so I just downloaded the complete XP/SP2 ISO. Is it true that you cannot slipstream SP2 into a VLK XP? I did not use the /integrate switch: I used the standard procedure which (appeared to have) worked, until install time. If true, what is the solution? Preslipped SP2 VLK edition? Ryan, you know ... ?
RyanVM Posted May 17, 2004 Posted May 17, 2004 I've had no issues integrating SP2 onto the VLK CDs with builds 2055, 2080, and 2096. I've always used the "standard" method of extracting then running update.exe -S:"path". The only issue I've had was with build 2120 with its activation issues that will supposedly be resolved in the next release.

It integrates without any errors. And it goes through the first part of the install correctly. It's when you try and get into the Windows GUI for the time, it gives this error:Windows Product ActivationA problem is preventing Windows from accurately checking the license for this computer. Error Code: 0x80004005bummer
RyanVM Posted May 17, 2004 Posted May 17, 2004 Yeah, same problem as 2120. I wouldn't expect it to be fixed before RC2 (I put zero stock in leaked builds).
Jazkal Posted May 17, 2004 Posted May 17, 2004 Duh! 2126 installs fine with my legit VLK!I have a legit VLK, and mine doesn't.
BeenThereB4 Posted May 17, 2004 Posted May 17, 2004 Don't know then, because "legit" is in the eye of the beholder (Microsoft). As RyanVM says, let them straighten it out.
Screemer Posted May 17, 2004 Posted May 17, 2004 As far as I've heard so far the pid of the VLM key has to be 640 and nothing else..To see the pid check under properties on my computer.Registered to:NameCompanie#####-640-#######-#####If it's anything else than 640 and it's legit I was told one can call Micro$oft for a new key.One other thing. After the official RC1 they have put in allot of new blacklisted VLM keys. If not 100% legit yours might be blacklisted. Even if it is 100% legit it might be since someone might have stolen yours or created it with a keygen..I have tried to install some of the post RC1's and it worked flawless with a 100% legit VLM key with the pid 640.I havn't tried to slipstream it yet tho since I want to be able to uninstall it when FULL SP2 is released..
