VistaLover Posted June 4 Posted June 4 (edited) Today (June 4th 2026) I noticed that I can no longer view a member's country flag to the (upper) left of their username (and above their avatar picture): There appears to be an empty placeholder for the country flag, as one can see when hovering over the "place" the flag should've been displayed, but the actual flag is MIA ; could this issue be looked into, please? PS1: In my account settings, I have chosen to always view members' country flags (if available) ... PS2: This is a reappearance of this older Forum issue ... It appears to me that the forum was reset to a January archive as far as settings and forum software but without loss of any "content" dated after that archive. Some aspects appear to have been reset to last November. For example, the list of members wiped out all "new members" (they were all FAKE anyway!) from December and January. There never was any new members past January. New members were not able to join until just a couple days ago, per that list of members. Unsure why ONE from January was still kept, as it too appears "fake". Along with the "repeat names" which are clearly fake as well. ie, if you see an angryduck and an angryduck22 both join on the same exact day, they are BOTH *fake*. xper is making appearances (ie, seeking donations), so maybe he'll shed actual light. xper Posted June 4 Posted June 4 (edited) Nothing was reset. I just pruned some inactive members. Found breach, egyspider webshell. Old WP plugin. Took me 4 days to clean up everything. Reindex sitemap and requested new Google indexing. We are getting back on google. As for country flag, I will fix that. Thanks for pointing it out. Anyway, I do as much as I can. Not much spare time. Well, I couldn't help noticing that member @Gregg (from the UK), who posted in the r3dfox thread (to which I'm subscribed ) and to which NHTPG kindly replied, now appears as "Guest Gregg" with no profile/membership at all ; I got the impression they were a 100% legitimate member, though ... 3 hours ago, xper said: As for country flag, I will fix that. Your efforts towards keeping MSFN "alive and kicking" are highly appreciated, and I'm not just saying this; MSFN is one of only two tech-forums I'm a member of, it really means much to me ... 1 hour ago, AstroSkipper said: I don't think @VistaLover owns a time machine either : 5 hours ago, VistaLover said: Today (June 6th 2026) I noticed that I can no longer view a member's country flag to the (upper) left of their username (and above their avatar picture): Well, for once you're wrong ; I do own a DeLorean myself, be it a plastic scale model of it ; actually, I got carried away by the forum's default date format, which is the one used in the US (i.e. MM/DD/YYYY); so, when composing my post, I mistook "06" as the day of the month (being accustomed to the European format of DD/MM/YYYY); so now you know ...

Pretty much what I expected. At least it wasn't a manufacturing date code, those things can be brutal to decode.

I'm pretty sure that @Gregg was one of only FOUR real members out of EIGHTY TWO that joined in November. I say "real member" in the sense that they joined in November and actually had a NON-ZERO "post count". My guess is that @Gregg and three other real people kind of got caught in the crosshairs as all of the fake accounts started the same month that they happened to join. While a slight inconvenience, he is able to read the forum without being logged in and he'll have to re-register his account. A small price to pay, but things are all FIXED now and with only ONE (I'm guessing FOUR in total) that were slightly inconvenienced. 1
