aranbadan88 Posted December 24, 2024 Posted December 24, 2024 My Orico 25PW1 black USB3.0 enclosure case contains a sponge, I think the material is EVA to stick to the bottom of the enclosure. My question is whether, over time, with the 2.5" Seagate ST500LM030 HDD installed in the enclosure, the sponge in contact with the 2.5" HDD flat cable generates pressure and damages the cable.
jumper Posted January 13 Posted January 13 If the sponge thickness is the correct match for that HDD, there should be no pressure on the cable.

The Seagate drive will die much faster than the any cable. Second, the sponge material will degrade over time, creating no tension.
