How do I change the error icons on Windows XP?

I am working on a Windows modification and I would like to know how to change the error, exclamation, question, and information icons with the icons pictured. The modification is supposed to follow the concept of "Windows XP in an alternate universe" and with the mod I've considered changing the icons too. Help is much appreciated!

Use the Resource Hacker program to replace icons. Search which files contain the icons you need and replace them.

Look inside user32.dll. You will need a second installed operating system or a boot CD to replace operating system files. Keep backups of previously working files. Be careful if you use the original version of Resource Hacker as it can sometimes produce corrupted files if you repeatedly save to the same file. You probably need to defeat the System File Protection in the dllcache directory.
