TheFighterJetDude Posted October 3, 2024 Posted October 3, 2024 So my laptop has 7 and server 2016 dual booted, and I booted to the 2016 install, and appearantly the October 2nd build switched to Chromium 126, which means no more updates for stock 7 and 8.x, but at least Valve is not actively forcing the update on people's machines if they are running 7 or 8.x, as far as I know.

Not enough time to. And the only game I am really interested in is Doom 3, which will run on Windows 2000 and up. I really wish I could daily drive 2000 again, but I would want to do it without the extended kernel. If only someone would port Mypal or something back to vanilla 2000...

It's in beta phase atm, but the end of updates is near
halohalo Posted November 6, 2024 Posted November 6, 2024 Latest Steam client switched to Chromium 126.0.6478.183. So Windows 7 and Windows 8 will not automatically update to the new Steam client.
