cucolinwin Posted April 28, 2004 Posted April 28, 2004 Hi, I had Win2000 and WinXP in an bual-boot system, but my XP partition became corrupted so now I have to install WinXP again. The problem is that I have created 3 additional booting options trying to fix the WinXP partition. The error was: "system32/hal.dll file missing or currupt" So now I would like to eliminate those other options that are useless. Does anybody now how to do this???Thank you very much...
XtremeMaC Posted April 28, 2004 Posted April 28, 2004 De javu? go to the root of your c drivelocate the boot.ini (hidden system file)crop out the ones u don't want..
cucolinwin Posted April 29, 2004 Author Posted April 29, 2004 The options do not appear in the boot.ini file. I created the options using the WinXP Pro CD (trying to fix the WinXP partition). Now I need to install WinXP again but I'm getting an error "cannot copy the file: msfs.sys" What should I do? Skip the file, or what??Thanks

khonjo Posted April 30, 2004 Posted April 30, 2004 Copy i386 folder from WXP CDROM to C: drive, and click wnnt32.exe in i386 to start WXP installation. Then follow the screen prompts, which you must have gone through before.
