Hello,

I am trying to install Windows 2000 from FreeDOS, but when I run winnt.exe, it gives me an error saying setup cannot continue. And no, booting from CD is not an option as I think my CD Drive is damaged (I'm using a VM for testing). Attached is the error.

Try to create the directory manually.

If FreeDOS considers the first name invalid, look for a winnt.exe option that allows you to choose another.

try following command winnt.exe /ox. That should create 3 or 4 boot floppies for windows 2000 or option 2 copy those win2000 cd boot folder I think.

The winnt.exe /ox was for NT, does it work on 2k also? :dubbio:

on 2K .iso there is a \bootdisk directory that contains the 4 floppy images and the makeboot and makebt32 executables (to create the floppies).
