GD 2W10 Posted September 4, 2021 Posted September 4, 2021 (edited) Hello, I am trying to install Windows 2000 from FreeDOS, but when I run winnt.exe, it gives me an error saying setup cannot continue. And no, booting from CD is not an option as I think my CD Drive is damaged (I'm using a VM for testing). Attached is the error. Edited September 5, 2021 by GD 2W10
jumper Posted September 6, 2021 Posted September 6, 2021 Try to create the directory manually. If FreeDOS considers the first name invalid, look for a winnt.exe option that allows you to choose another.

That should create 3 or 4 boot floppies for windows 2000 or option 2 copy those win2000 cd boot folder I think. Edited September 6, 2021 by Mr.Scienceman2000
jaclaz Posted September 6, 2021 Posted September 6, 2021 The winnt.exe /ox was for NT, does it work on 2k also? on 2K .iso there is a \bootdisk directory that contains the 4 floppy images and the makeboot and makebt32 executables (to create the floppies). jaclaz
