Goodmaneuver Posted April 6, 2021 Posted April 6, 2021 You could "restart" instead of "shut down" and then press power button momentarily after the machine has restarted as an alternative shutdown.
Joaquim Posted May 4, 2021 Author Posted May 4, 2021 Mercury: lets go back.. i'm restarting again... everything. when i execute the 'WINOFF16.EXE' the windows will reboot(not the computer... just the windows).... i download it from 1st post. like i said, we are restarting. so what you can tell me more?
MERCURY127 Posted May 5, 2021 Posted May 5, 2021 (edited) 1) u need place fdapm AND winexit.bat into windir; 2) winoff16 - it for win3x ONLY. for win9x use patched win.com; 3) acpioff work ONLY IF system was installed in NON-ACPI mode, ie with "/p i" switch; 4) if all three prev steps done - system must turn off when select Shut down here Edited May 5, 2021 by MERCURY127 1

Joaquim Posted May 5, 2021 Author Posted May 5, 2021 i knew that i forgot something.. so i read all posts and i re-read: "- extract WINEXIT.BAT, FDAPM.COM, WIN.ENG to WINDIR, - rename WIN.ENG to WIN.COM with replace," i did and shutdown the computer.. and then turn off automatic. Mercury127 it's normal take some time for turn off? 1
MERCURY127 Posted May 6, 2021 Posted May 6, 2021 Hallelujah! i properly understand, that NOW acpioff WORK for u? 14 hours ago, Joaquim said: it's normal take some time for turn off? yes, fdapm wait up to 8 seconds for writing DOS caches and stopping HDD motors. 1
