I see that you've bought a wifi card that I recommended. It's weird that you don't have any networks listed.
As others said, try the new wifi card using Windows 2000 or XP and see if the networks show up there. You can also try Debian from the Linux side of things.
The "File is not installed" text in Device Manager is normal, I have it as well and Wi-Fi works fine regardless.
Try also this older drivers for Windows 9x and see if the networks show up in Odyssey, maybe the latest one doesn't work with all Atheros cards...

Also, have you connected the antennas to the WiFi card?

maybe isn't compatible with WPA codification or something.

that why i'm trying buy these one: https://www.ebay.com/itm/254506467561?hash=item3b41c480e9:g:S94AAOxy-WxTFCr8

from these suggestion: https://cloakedthargoid.wordpress.com/win9x-wpa2/

yes i try almost everything(except on W2K.. i must create a double boot and i don't know do it).

and from ArcticFoxie: "

Upon further reading on my end, WPA and WPA2 is very difficult on 98/98SE.

I could probably get it to work if it were my equipment.

But guiding this process online is going to be far too time-consuming given the complexity level of the articles found via a Google-search on the topic."

so i prefare buy the https://www.ebay.com/itm/254506467561?hash=item3b41c480e9:g:S94AAOxy-WxTFCr8

but i need a confirmation, for have sure  that i can buy it ;)
MrMateczko: you gived me a suggestion... wasn't the solution, but you tryied... and the price was low... so... that's ok... thanks anyway

at least the Windows 98 is working on a Windows XP laptop hehehehe and all drivers are installed... well except the wireless... and the modem driver seems strange, even installed without a warning or something...
maybe these wireless card will resolve my problem.

thanks to all for all

i don't know do it

- boot to 9x normal mode,
- make W2KDISTR folder on ur 9x fat32 partition,
- copy I386 folder from W2K setup disk to W2KDISTR,
- make W9XBAK folder on ur 9x fat32 partition,
- copy ur C:\IO.SYS COMMAND.COM MSDOS.SYS CONFIG.SYS AUTOEXEC.BAT to W9XBAK,
- reboot to safe/plain/pure/clean msdos mode command prompt only,
- rename ur 9x WINDIR to MYW9X,
- delete ur MSDOS.SYS CONFIG.SYS AUTOEXEC.BAT
- reboot machine,

- cd W2KDISTR\I386,
- run WINNT.EXE

- in started w2k installer, select ur fat32 part to install, and say NO FORMAT,
- if installer ask u for install to C:\MYW9X or C:\WINDOWS - force install to C:\WINNT
- do installation to final, check, that ur w2k work normal (it "highly likely" :) that u get non-work EHCI USBs... this can fix later),

- copy ur backed IO.SYS COMMAND.COM from W9XBAK to C:\ (with repl if need)
- open C:\BOOT.INI in notepad,
- find section and string

[Boot Loader]
timeout=30
Default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT

change "Default=" string to

Default=C:\

- find section and string

[Operating Systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT="Microsoft Windows 2000"

add under this

C:\="Microsoft Windows 98"

- reboot machine,

- on any next boot, now u will asked for select OS,
- if u do all properly - u now will boot to 9x by default,
- and now u must see pure MSDOS 7 prompt,
- copy ur backed MSDOS.SYS CONFIG.SYS AUTOEXEC.BAT from W9XBAK to C:\ (with repl if need)
- rename MYW9X to ur old WINDIR,

- reboot again and check dualboot function...

WPA/WPA2 is not related with HW and low layer drivers. for work with WPA/WPA2 u need just good Wireless Supplicant, as Odyssey.
with Odyssey's help i have succesfully connect to my router with WPA2-AES and that even work with absolute alien's for 9x device - USB dongle on RT2870.
it means, that here can not be problems with WPA if ur HW is working properly.
so please, check your hardware in a normal operating system, and only then think about buying new card.

That's a second WiFi card you've tried that should work in 98SE (there are drivers for them for 98SE), yet it doesn't for you. I am feeling this might be laptop's fault and not 98SE.

It would be great if you could test those WiFi card on a different laptop with a MiniPCI slot, this way we could check if it's the laptop fault, or the cards fault. If you're looking for a laptop with good 98SE compatibility, look for an Intel 855 chipset.

i need more help for find, again, the card reader drivers :(

evice Description : Texas Instruments OHCI IEEE 1394 Host Controller
Hardware ID : PCI\VEN_104C&DEV_8032&SUBSYS_00661025&REV_00
Compatible IDs : PCI\VEN_104C&DEV_8032&REV_00

Device Description : Texas Instruments PCIxx21 Integrated FlashMedia Controller
Hardware ID : PCI\VEN_104C&DEV_8033&SUBSYS_00661025&REV_00
Compatible IDs : PCI\VEN_104C&DEV_8033&REV_00

Device Description : Texas Instruments PCI-1250 CardBus Controller
Hardware ID : PCI\VEN_104C&DEV_8031&SUBSYS_00661025&REV_00
Compatible IDs : PCI\VEN_104C&DEV_8031&REV_00
i tryied, again to find it, but no luck :(

PS: i'm using a IDE old disk, on External USB.... even seen the files, is normal, sometimes, damage them?
i ask, because:
1 - sometimes the 'setup' don't execute or find errors;

2 - another-times, a file can be found, but not copied :(

PS2: finally i found an audio driver: https://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/via_ac97_vinyl_audio_driver.html
it can be installed and not forced.... and the ms-dos games, not all, can have sound blaster working ;)
in time, maybe i can do it for ATI Radeon X600 64MB's of VRAM ;)
