Roffen Posted May 26, 2019 Posted May 26, 2019 (edited) What can be done to stop the message that the "trial period of the WinZip privacy protector (that I never wanted) has expired" from occupying the entire screen? Edited May 26, 2019 by Roffen improving text
Roffen Posted May 26, 2019 Author Posted May 26, 2019 What I see is the screen filled by the message that the trial period of WinZip privacy protector (that I never wanted) has expired.
Roffen Posted May 26, 2019 Author Posted May 26, 2019 I don't know how WinZip got there at all, nor how to get rid of it. Is 7Zip free and easily available?
Mcinwwl Posted May 26, 2019 Posted May 26, 2019 Yes, it is. Just download from here: https://www.7-zip.org/ Choose 64 bit version for newer systems, like windwos 10, and 32 bit for Windows XP

Roffen Posted May 29, 2019 Author Posted May 29, 2019 Please tell me how to uninstall apps. In particular, Windows 10, so I can install whatever else I might want instead, say Windows 7. (Win 10 is of course not an app but I want to see it disappear from my machine.)
cdob Posted May 29, 2019 Posted May 29, 2019 Repair or remove programs in Windows 10: https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/4028054/windows-10-repair-or-remove-programs Select the Start button, Settings and Apps.
Mcinwwl Posted May 29, 2019 Posted May 29, 2019 Roffen, there are two ways of removing stuff "from" windows 10: - If it is Store app, find it in start menu by simply typing it name, right click on it and press Uninstall. - If it is a program, open control panel, then go to "programs and functions" menu, and from here you should be able to find it and uninstall As for "Removing Windows 10", I think we already discussed it with you: We know that you love Windows XP, but you cannot install it on your current computer. You would need Pc old enough to support it.
