sharing username n password

Featured Replies

My ISP has a service called Streamyx. I can use it for unlimited hours on a broadband DSL. My friend needs my username and password to connect to his internet. Should I do so? Will it cause any effects to me or my friend?

Thanks,

Roger :)

Can anyone answer me?

OK, I'll make it simplier. When my friend uses my username and password for him/her to connect to the internet, will the bill charges goes to him/her or to me?

TQ!!

This is probably something you need to ask your ISP. I don't think any of us would know how they would apply any charges. Although I would assume that any charges incuured on your account would be billed directly to you since you are the account owner.

edit by doggie - please dont share usernames and passwords to site(s)

I used to be a network admin. Password sharing is punishable by removing all access to your PC for 2 years or death.

Sharing passwords at any level can cause problems. Your friend could surf and do something with your details and as the account is assigned to you, you would b held accountable.

I always used to say to people.

'Would you give your credit card pin to someone?" its basically the same thing

I agree... Paswords are security.

If the isp wern't bothered who was connecting, they wouldn't ask for a password!

And why does your freind need your password for his internet?
