Chris Lee Posted April 5, 2004 Posted April 5, 2004 I have the Settings.reg which is used to edit and import the settings of Winrar, however, it does not register File types such as rar or associate with ZIP. I think the associations are located in "HKEY_Classes_root" but am not sure. How can I get winrar to associate itself with all the file types in can except iso? Thanks.
OcTroN Posted April 5, 2004 Posted April 5, 2004 I would assoc those files after installation of WinRAR.Dump this in a batch file;assoc .rar=WinRARassoc .r01=WinRARassoc .xxx=WinRARWith the extentions you want of course.Greets

Chris Lee Posted April 5, 2004 Author Posted April 5, 2004 I want to be able to choose my associations, I do not want all of them associated, as I have some programs that take care of some of them.I do install Winrar with /s switch.
evilvoice Posted April 5, 2004 Posted April 5, 2004 well, you could always install on your pc, and then set it how you want it, through options, settings, then after done, goto options, export, and itll save it as settings.reg, if you copy that over to your winrar dir, and open winrar, itll automatically import your settings...and then everything is set, its all associated and everything.
Chris Lee Posted April 5, 2004 Author Posted April 5, 2004 I did use settings.reg, nothing happened..it was checked (formats menu) and everything looked right, but no association.
evilvoice Posted April 6, 2004 Posted April 6, 2004 dont register it...just have it in the folder, when you open winrar, itll say settings imported.
