Kio Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 (edited) We know the bug in Windows 8.1 in certain dialogues (When delete a file/folder, copy…) Exploring a bit I discovered that deleting all icons size 256x256px in imageres.dll (and replace it) the bug go away. But it is exhausting eliminate about 300 icons for any app/soft. Any interested in investigating this error and solved?Another way to fix it's set the display/screen size (dpi) to 200% (maximum) , but it 's all a bit bigger in sight. * Sorry for my english. osRe Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 (edited) Since it's just cosmetical I'd say it's better to ignore it and concentrate on fixing the functional problems. BTW, even the fixed one has some aliasing. Edited May 25, 2015 by shae
NoelC Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 I'm having trouble seeing a problem here with Windows 8.1... Win 8.1: And, LOL Andre, I'm not sure I'd call this "fixed" in any reasonable sense... Win 10: -Noel
jaclaz Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 And, LOL Andre, I'm not sure I'd call this "fixed" in any reasonable sense... Though, to be fair, it could be worse than that jaclaz.
osRe Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 (edited) That's how it looks in Win10?! Noel: The icon problems are finicky, affected by random settings or conditions. (Why does the forum not show the image at 100% size even though there's plenty of space?) Edited May 27, 2015 by shae
jaclaz Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 That's how it looks in Win10?! Oww, come on, that one is clearly a fake! Windows Executive 10 only runs Office Cloud 2016 , and that would be README.DOCX . jaclaz
NoelC Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 I take it back. There is a definition of "fixed" that seems to apply... http://www.fixafriendclinic.org/ The changes we see in Win 10 cannot help but reduce the overpopulation of Windows 10. -Noel
