win2003 hardware acceleration... how?

Does anyone know how to set hardware acceleration to full in Windows 2003 unattended?

I allready tried to search the registry using tools like RegMon or RegShot. But it seems like the information on hardware acceleration is not stored in the registry. Anyone know where windows stores these values?

Right... It's that Properties -> Settings -> Advanced -> Troubleshoot --> Hardware Acceleration thing. But I want to activate / set it to full unattended. So I need to know where this information is stored... registry? Could you help?

Yours isnt set to full by default?? How old is your video card?

No its not set at full by default in Windows Server 2003 for compatibility reasons (its a Server - get it?)

I assume you both haven't tried Windows Server 2003 yet?

Thanks for your interest but this doesn't do it. These "random numbers" do not equal my registry entries. DisableUSWC is not even included in my registry...

Maybe these numbers depend on the device installed but somewhere a default value for hardware acceleration must be stored. I cannot find it :cry:

It seems to depend on the display adapter that is in the system?

If that is the case, I guess it is impossible to turn the hardware

acceleration up to full with a registry tweak? Hmmmm, OK then

the next question is - what command or what exe in system32

will bring up the screen:

Right click Desktop then...

Properties > Settings [tab] > Advanced [button] > Troubleshoot [tab]

If I can find which exe to run, or a function in a DLL or something,

from a command line to at least bring up the "Troubleshoot" screen,

I can write an AutoIt script then and hey, I will give it away here, lets

ok, on my Server 2003 machine with default acceleration the reg entry dword value was 4.

Found as above but in {B1A73194-13C4-49F4-A275...} as Acceleration.Level

Changing the slider on the props/settings tab change the dword value to 0.

yes, there's a registry solution and yes, is machine dependant.

create an unattended file (.sif) for that program, more info on program's readme.
