October 17, 201312 yr Windows 8 Pro 64-bit with Media Center. When I install the 8.1 upgrade it gets stuck at 84% then 85% and goes to a black screen and then BSOD's to DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE....Side note: The family PC that DOESN'T have media center installed 8.1 fine. October 18, 201312 yr I doubt Media Center has anything to do with it. The error you posted specifically refers to a driver. The specific driver should be mentioned in the error screen, or may be in Event Viewer after the 8.1 Update rolls back.
October 22, 201312 yr Author No it failed to create one. It was caused by steel series software. Just solved it.
