ectavares Posted March 20, 2004 Posted March 20, 2004 Hi!As I am learning to use unattended file I read that I need to put the applications I want to install inside the folder $OEM$\$1\Install but I have already put norton system works, windows service pack 1 and CD is 1GB.How do I do to solve this problem?Do not put to much app?thxEduardo Tavares :/
Chris Lee Posted March 20, 2004 Posted March 20, 2004 You should try batches to strip some unneeded XP components off.Jdeboeck's batchsYou should also try gosh's reducing size.Gosh's reducingI do not really understand that SP1 and Systemworks would take up space, perhaps you didn't clean off unneeded software in the systemworks folder.
XtremeMaC Posted March 20, 2004 Posted March 20, 2004 or u can try 2cd option found under threads of interesthttp://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=9817
Exodia Posted March 20, 2004 Posted March 20, 2004 You really should integrate SP1 into your cd, not just add it in as an app to run, it will save you 120mb of space.I posted a link in your other post on how to slipstream (integrate) SP1 into your cd.
big_gie Posted March 21, 2004 Posted March 21, 2004 I rather install small application with my unattended cd, not big ones like office or system works (the iso is like 400Mb (i think)... it surely can be reduced...)I'm really sure you can replace everything from systemworks with some freeware witch take 90% less space! I have more than 30 application installed in unattended, including firewall, antivirus, ftp client, web browsers, all needed hotfixes, shells, compression, acrobat reader, cd-r tools, codecs, directx9, .net, java, ad blocker, registry editor, email client, vnc, ultraiso, and many more My cd is less then 650Mb and I also have about 50 Mb of dos application (anti-virus, data recovery, partitionner...) I also have all the drivers needed for my 2 computers. So it IS possible to put all you need... (read: get rid of systemworks ) I'm still surprised from the 1Gb...
