windows 7 x32 shuts down randomly

Featured Replies

Hi I have a 500 GB seagate barracuda HDD 7200.12, Intel Pentium 4, 3.0 Ghz, Mobo G31TMP21. 2 GB RAM. I have Installed win 7 x32 OS. When ever I try to run two or more applications, the PC would hang for some time and return to normal. Some times it would restart randomly. Also my HDD would make a chick sound. Pls help

Thanks Allen. But i have already tested the HDD with seatools and carried out a long test. The long test shows some error in windows file system. Also i want to add that some times my hard drive is not recognised in BIOS.

Then the only thing you should do is replacing this drive or trying to repair it (but i won't be of any help if you try to repair the hard drive).

Sounds like an over heating issue. Run the apps and keep an eye on the temp.

There are a few freeware temp monitoring apps that monitor hard drives

If the long test detects errors, the hard disk is damaged and needs to be replaced :(
