XP On USB

Thanks for the countless little apps.

So here is my little issue im having i been trying to install XP on a Asus EEE PC 900 it came with linux on it :blushing: ..... So i want to give it to my mother inlaw so she can use it at her house. So I do what i need to do on my machine format all that good stuff then i pop it in the EEE PC then it will start till boot #2 everything goes well but then bam i get NTDLR missing, restart, and again and again. So i never get to boot into XP after it install. Im stuck on this all day n night. Any light would help me out thanks !!!

? Have you tried DBAN ("nukes" the HDD - totally clean writes zeros) then "start from scratch"? Is this an "upgrade CD or a "full" (retail, or OEM)?

"NTLDR" is missing - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314057

You may have more than one partition AND the Boot Loader in the MBR is probably still Linux (not sure if that would have anything to do with it?).

Try getting a DBAN cd image, burn it, boot from it, and "nuke" the whole HDD (an SSD or a HDD???).

So, which one is it? (I see no CD/DVD, but must have one - have a floppy? probably not)

We need more info. BTW, I believe several other members have an EEE and may be able to help (dencorso?) more.
