PhoneTray Free no longer works

As I am running into the problem of when I remove components that should have nothing to do with the modem the program fails to "ready" my modem.

I was wondering if there is a list of what files are excluded by selecting the various component removals.

Like when I remove "16-bit support" what files are being removed?

Thanks for replying.

Its not actually a double post (at least I don't think) as this one is PhoneTray Free specific, where the other post is just a general question about file removal, independent from PhoneTray Free. I did this cause there might be a person who knows about a file list but nothing about PhoneTray Free, or there might be a person who knows nothing about a file removal list but had the same problem with PhoneTray Free and was able to resolve it. So they truly are two separate topics.

I will attach two files, the first one is a version in which PhoneTray Free works, the second is a version in which PhoneTray Free doesn't work. The reason for the two is that I'm trying to figure out what components are needed by PhoneTray Free.

I am slowly removing components. The file from the last fail I have deleted already. :)

The link you gave for your 2nd answer doesn't work the URL is truncated. Could you kindly repost it?

Thanks in advance

Might still be on your C: drive in \Program Files\nLite\Presets\

It's one of the sticky topics in the nLite forum "What not to remove for some programs" .

A specific search could reveal something there.

Spoiled:

Thanks for the link.

Ponch:

I don't know which one it would be as I have done somewhere between 20-50 installs.

I discovered something new. Even if I remove everything but Modem, Ports, and Modem Support If I quit and restart the program 3 time it then works and the Modem is made ready!!! Then every time after that!

So the question, is why is going on in the removal of components that I have to do that. What is the restarting of the app doing to cause it to eventual work?

If I quit and restart the program 3 times

What do you mean by that ? At what point do you quit the program (nothing's done until you click "Yes" at "Do you want to start the process?"). Do you overwrite the source with the original or let nLite do it at each restart ? Do you load "last session.ini" ? Do you restart nLite and run it on a resulting set of files ? Are you not confused between ticking/unticking keep/remove... ticking IS removing, right ?
