Jolaes
Hello, does anybody know what are the latest versions of these software that (are supposed to) work together? From what I learned, Firefox 3.6.x and later versions can only use the next-gen Java plugin, which seems to be impossible to properly install on win9x - or is there a way...???The best combination I have found so far is:Firefox 3.5.12 + Java runtime environment 1.5.0_22 (+ KernelEx 4.5 RC1)Also, what is your experience with the Firefox 4.0 betas? All tips, tricks appreciated.
rainyd
I'm running like you Firefox 3.5.12 but with Java 6 update 21 (KernelEx 4.5 RC2).I've tested two versions (2 and 5 if I remember correctly) of Firefox 4 beta for a short while only, because most of my extensions don't work. Jolaes
Thanks rainyd, how did you set/configure Java 6 update 21 for Firefox? I am asking because I only get two or more (empty) console windows popping up whenever Java 1.6.x plugin is started from Firefox...

Jolaes
That solution (renaming plugin directory) worked. Thanks again!
erpdude8
just remember that you need to have Windows Installer 2.0 installed under 98se/me. Any version of Sun Java runtime software can't be installed without MSI 2.0.
