Ash98
So, i shrunk the XP setup from approx. 500mb to 170mb. I mounted the iso and used WinToFlash to make my 2GB usb bootable. When I boot it, I choose the first option. Then it says"Setup could nto determine the type of computer you have, or you have chosen to maually specify the computer type.Select the computer type from the following list, or select "Other" if you have a device support disk provided by your computer manufacturer.------------------------------------Standard PC with C-Step i486Other------------------------------------If i choose Other it says it cant detect these OEM drivers, but if i chose the first option it loads the drivers then displays this BSOD message:SESSION3_INITIALIZATION_FAILEDTechincal information:*** STOP: 0x0000006F ...Is there anything i need to keep during the nlite components removal in order for it to work?Any help would be appreciated LAST_SESSION.INI Edited January 10, 2010 by Ash98
johnhc
Ash98, please delete your Last Session.ini and attach it. I see that you have run nLite under Vista (or W7) to create an XP ISO. This is known to fail in some cases. Since you have used WinToFlash, I suggest you go to their support/forum for help. There is a USB installation forum here that makes some comments about what not to remove, using nLite, when making a USB installable ISO. Please see it for more information. So, again, please edit your first post, delete your Last Session.ini and please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Please report when you have a solution, so others can benefit. Enjoy, John.

Ponch
Your program is using the mehod "boot from a PE" to install XP so you need to keep "Manual Install and Upgrade" which I see you removed.

Ash98
The solution actually was unticking "Manual Install and Upgrade" on nLite
jaclaz
The solution actually was unticking "Manual Install and Upgrade" on nLite Really? And what is the answer to FAQ #2? Q2: I am getting BSOD, error 0x0000006F during Text mode Setup, what is wrong?A2: When using Nlite to slim down your source do NOT select "Operating System Options-->Manual Install and Upgrade for removal". This option is crucial for installing from USB.And are you booting to a PE?jaclaz
